I'm a wedding photographer working across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. I shoot the moments that happen without being asked to, and I make time for proper portraits too, because you'll want both once the day's gone. Everything's shot in real colour, the way it actually looked, because I'd rather give you something true than something trendy.
For seven years I ran a kids' football team on Saturday mornings, through a couple of seasons that Covid mangled beyond recognition. If you want to know whether I can hold a group of nervous people together and keep things moving when nothing's going to plan, that's where I learned it.
I was born and raised in the city of Liverpool, met Claire at college in London and eventually we moved to the Fens..
When I'm not shooting weddings, I'm usually playing guitar somewhere far too small for it. I've been in bands since before I picked up a camera, and most of what I know about timing came from a stage.
I got married myself at Marylebone Register Office, no fuss, no big performance. I know what the nerves feel like from the other side of the camera, and I know the day isn't really about how composed you look. It's about who's stood next to you. Or in my case, who you are standing behind x
I came into photography through music. I'd spent years playing in bands before I picked up a camera, and what I was chasing was the same thing either way. Not the posed moment. The one right before it, or right after, when nobody's thinking about how they look.
My dad photographed weddings too, so I grew up watching him work from the edge of the room. I noticed early on what he paid attention to, and what he let go. Twelve years in, I still work that way. I shoot the moments nobody planned, and I make time for proper portraits, because both of those things end up mattering once the day is over and the memory is all you've got left.
That's still what I'm doing. Reading a room, waiting for the real bit, and not mistaking a good pose for a good photo.

lazy SUNDAYS
There's no sales call, no pressure, no countdown timer telling you a date's about to disappear. You ask what you need to ask, I give you a straight answer, and if it's a good fit we book it. On the day itself, I'm not directing every second of it. I'm watching for the bit that's actually happening, and I'll pull you aside for portraits only when it's the right moment to do it, not because a shot list says so.
PROCESS
Twelve years in, and I still shoot the same way I did on day one, just better at it. I haven't chased whatever style's trending this year, because the couples who hired me in 2014 still love their photos, and I want that true for the ones I shoot this year too. What's changed isn't the approach. It's just gotten sharper with time.
JOURNEY
Every photo is shot in the colour the day actually was. No fading it out, no pushing it toward a trend that'll look dated in five years. I shoot both the moments nobody planned and proper portraits where you get to stand still for a second and look like yourselves. Neither one on its own tells the whole story of a wedding. Together, they do.

REAL WEDDINGS
MADE TO LAST
NO PERFORMANCE
If you want photos that look like the day you actually had, and portraits that still look right on the wall in twenty years, you're in the right place.
I take the time to actually get to know the people I'm photographing, not just the timeline. That's what makes the difference between photos that document a day and photos you still want to look at years from now.
