Wendy & John | South Farm Wedding Photography, Cambridgeshire

Weddings

Some days just work. Wendy and John had everything organised well in advance, and it showed, not in a rigid, military-schedule way, but in the easy, nothing-to-worry-about way that makes a wedding day enjoyable. They were relaxed, easy to talk to, and clearly just happy to be getting on with it. There was a bit of rain early on. Then the sun came out, and the grounds at South Farm did what they do.

South Farm

If you’re looking at venues in Cambridgeshire and South Farm isn’t on your list, put it on your list. The Georgian house, the grounds, the vintage caravans dotted around, it’s a setting that does a lot of the work for you. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Getting ready

Bridal prep at South Farm had the right energy. Dress, shoes, makeup, family close by, the usual ingredients, but with none of the usual tension. Wendy was calm throughout, which makes everything easier.

The ceremony

The shot I keep coming back to from the morning is Wendy under her umbrella on the way to the ceremony. The rain had done its thing, she had her brolly, and there was something very straightforward and unfussy about it. No drama, just her getting there. That one will last.

Gardens and portraits

The reception portraits were easy. The gardens gave us plenty to work with, the grounds, the caravans, the open sky once the clouds had cleared. We kept the formal portraits brief and got out of the way for the rest.

Wendy and John were exactly the kind of couple who make this job straightforward, prepared, relaxed, and not trying to perform anything for the camera. The day looked after itself, and South Farm looked after the day.
